Paired Clownfish

I have a 240 gallon reef tank and I am thinking about adding two pairs of clownfish to my tank, a pair of Black and White Ocellaris, and a pair of Black Snowflake Clown Fish. They will both have their own anemone on each side of the 8 foot tank. Anyone see or know of problems with multiple clowns in one tank. Thanks.

I think you should be fine as I have 2 pairs in a 150, however have you considered only one pair that is black and white and the other pair orange and white

I have two pair Wyoming and phamtoms and they r fine...and congregate together most of the time near my overhead and rose bubble...u should be fine also

As long as the tank is big enough and you're not dealing with Maroons, Tomatoes, or other large clowns---you're probably OK. But this isn't a slam-dunk. I've seen pairs of smaller clowns refuse to tolerate any other clown is a bigger tank more than once. I'd never try this if one pair was already well established and had claimed its territory.

How do you know the anemones are going to stay at the ends of the tank?

Are you willing to go though the effort to catch a pair if things go South once one pair starts to spawn? (( that is usually when the aggression levels greatly increase )) ?

+1

In re-reading my post above, I think I was leaning too much toward the "OK" side. You've got a god size tank, juts one pair of maroons would be great. IMO, these clowns really have some personality, something lacking in many clown species .
