Pairing a snowflake

Hello all,
I purchased a snowflake this past weekend from the lfs. Wasn't really planning on it but as it happens to most of us, went to the store for food came home with fish and food.

Anyway, the snowflake was by itself as it's mate had died recently by getting caught in a vortech. I was told this was the female and I could pair it up with another clown in the same family as long as it was smaller.

I'm not a big fish guy, being doing corals for 12 years so I figured I would ask the experts.

Can I pair this clown, what kinds could I pair it with, and should I do it now before the clown becomes comfortable in the new tank or wait?

Thanks guys

Hello Aharrow,

You can pair the snowflake clown with any other ocellaris clown. I actually have a male snowflake paired with a True Black Onyx Percula, but I wouldn't suggest trying that.

The size of the clown will determine what to pair it with. If it is very small, then it is most likely still a male. Larger clowns 2" and over, are most likely female if it was paired before.

Any other questions, feel free to ask.
