Pairing clownfish...

i have an onyx and a true perc in my current tank. i dnt think they are paired yet cuz they dnt lay eggs but the smaller one twitches sometimes. i want to get a juvi picasso in the smaller percs place? will i be ok?

can i just get a juvi picasso and have all three in there for now while my 20 gal cycles? i want the picasso now because there are only a couple left at the lfs.

Having 3 would be a bad idea -- odds are good that the newest one would be harassed until it died.

Do you want to replace one of your existing ones because you like the looks of the new better, or because your current pair hasn't spawned yet? If it is the spawning issues, I wouldn't make the change. A pair won't start spawning right away. It took my pink skunk pair about 2 years to start, my SI perc pair a year and my old Clarkii pair (( which I sold )) took about 1.5 years.

I bet the current pair isnt mature enough yet to spawn. Just because they have spawned doesnt mean that they aret a pair. The twitching is normal.

You can but nothing is guaranteed. There is a chance she might beat him up as well.You just never know.

My Picassos are my favorite fish. The only other fish that Ive had that i like more was the Moorish Idol I had.
