I recently purchased a very beautiful clown fish that is older, i today i purchased a very young clown. The older one seems to be nipping or charging the younger one. i know they have only been in the tank one day together. is this normal. will they pair.
I have the same problem. i read that it say if u add a small juvenile one to the tank with an much older clown they will pair with little to no fighting. Well what do you consider little fighting? My bigger fish keep charging pinning down the other tiny clown to the corner, This is there first 20 mins together as im speaking. Should i remove them or should i leave them there for a while?
my bigger clown fish is a hybrid therefor i bought her a small false clown. Will they pair? i mean if my first one is hybrid then true clown do mate with false clown?
I managed to successfully pair two Maroons by introducing a smaller one after the first. The female (big one) tried to kill the little guy the first night so I trapped her in a small in -tank breeder cage and put her where she could see the new guy getting cozy with the BTA. I let her out the next afternoon and all was fine. Maybe I just got lucky, but it worked for me....
