Pairing ephippiums?

I haver two A. ephippium in my 24 gallon tank and they dont seem to want to pair up. The larger one just beats on the little one. Is there anything I need to do to get them to settle down?

patience, some of the hardest clowns to pair,females are absolubt brutes usually.

i had a pair the small one with the black dot the larger maroon took about 3-4 months of bullying.

Yeah the little one just gets hammerd sometimes. It seems like it will get beat up and then hide for a few weeks and come out fine, only to get beat up again.
