Pairing Hawaiian Flame Wrasse???

My brother has had a male flame wrasse for a few months already and he just added a female to the tank. The male chases her and looks like he is nipping her...is this normal????

What are the basic steps to pairing a flame wrasse???

got a pic? maybe he added another male?.. I usually always use an acclimation box to introduce new wrasse to display to lessen aggression though.. just tossing new fish in is trouble

When I added my female to my tank with my well established male he though it was great. He swam right up to her and just settled down on the rocks next to her. Never any aggression. They are together periodically but not all the time shes more in the rock work and he more in the open. You may have gotten a 2nd male not all the way changed to terminal male. A picture would be helpful of both male and female.

hey guy am the brother with the flames and here are some pics they might not look to good but best i can due cause he moves a lot i can gave u a description
the one i think is male is bright orange ,pink and his upper fin is almost dark pink/red and bottom fin is orange the one i think is female is pink yello back fin and pink purple upper fin and lower fin

the female pic will be the one that looks stress and in a corner of the tank the rest are the male u tell what u think? order of pics the frist pic is the femal and the rest male.

I think your male looks like a male, but that female looks large, like it might be in the beginning phases of change. The colors look female although mine is very pink and yours seems to be a little more orange then I would expect. This is only my opinion though anyone else want to chime in?

Agreed,
Keep an eye on them.
If adding a female to an established male, you need to make sure the female isn't starting to change, or the existing male won't stop until it's dead.
