Pairing Neon Blue Gobies

I think a pair of Neon Gobies would make a good addition to my reef. I like getting captive bred fish. How does one ensure getting a pair. There are several online sites that sell these guys, as they are among the easiest fish to breed in captivity but, no one seems to sell them as a pair. Won't they fight if they are not a pair? I don't think it is as easy as getting a couple of them and simply hoping they pair up. Any advice?

Thanks!

When the local divers used to catch them here, they always said the females are larger and wider then the males. Ive had a few pairs but my Golden Sailfin Blenny doesnt seem to like them!

The males are thin and the females really have a belly on them. If you can buy them in person the difference is easy to see. I used to have a pair of these, very nice fish.

Any too will do. These are transgender gobies so will change in time. I did this recently and unfortunately got too male, they have since changed and paired up and are showing signs of breeding. The problem comes with them chasing and acting a little aggressive towards one another until a dominate individual has been established. I did need to treat them in a qt after their fighting brought out a bit of ich, and also found a clear divider in a breeding trap for a few days, sped up the process. I guess they could show each other who was the dominant fish without actually getting to one another and causing any harm.
