Pairing the GSM's

OK after reading threads of pairing, I have had my new juvi in a small container for a few days now. Yesturday I switched them out, and let the juvi into the tank. I did try and let him out after one day, and the larger maroon torpedoed the little guy several times till I could get him out again.

It will be one day now that the switch has been made, how much longer should I wait till I try again?

He ran and hid in behind some rocks. Didnt fight back at all. He was torpedoed atleat 3 times. I felt sorry for the little fella, so i put him back into the separated container.

OK I dont think this is going to work out. Seems the larger GSM doesnt want the juvi in there at all. I guess I need to go with a larger one. Is this the answer?

It is better (IME) to have the larger GSM in the tank first. I have never had issues pairing GSM's, you just need to make sure the larger one is so much larger 3X or more larger, that the smaller one immediatly shows submissive behavior (shaking perpendicular to the bigger clown) and you should have an easy pairing.

OK I got a bigger one. She is a beautiful monster compared to him. Sent the juvi back to the LFS and exchanged him. They paired immediately.

Look at her size compared to the BTA. WOW what a difference. The original two use to share the BTA, dont think thats going to happen here unless this BTA grows alot faster.

Again I have a question about the yellow stripes, what causes them to lose that yellow in the stripe? You can see the difference between the two in the yellow. Originally the smaller male had nice yellow color.

GSM seems you have most of the answers here in this forum, do you know why they would lose the color in the stripes?

as they grow the stripes seem to change ive never seen yellow to white though

my female had big thick stripes when i got her now they are thin and almost disapearing. just a growing up thing in my females case.

in the case of your male i hope somebody has had this happen that can make sense of it
