Pairing Yellow tail damsels

Just like clowns, If i get one medium and one smaller size yellow tail damsels and introduce them in the tank at the same time, will they pair up? Has any body tried it? Any feedback? Will they be very aggressive towards other fish after they pair up?

if introduced together in your 72 ...they should be ok, but may bicker until terrritories are set. I thought I had a pair, but the larger killed off the smaller one. I have other species of damsels spwning all over my tank. They will be aggressive defending their own territories and more so if they spawn.

So even if they are paired, they will have their individual terrotory and won't hang out with each other like clowns?

Yes that's semi-correct - I have 3 C.hemicyana's -very similar to yellowtails

One fish guards/fans the eggs in the whelk shell another one stays somewhat nearby (about 6-8 in.) to do it's guard duty.
They all get together, especially first thing in th morning, to reconfirm the pecking order every day though. And the couple of times I found two of them spawning it was pretty cool

I'm looking at the tank right now and the mated pair are swimming about 3 inches from each other near the eggs.
