Pakastani Butterfly ate Cleaner Shrimp?

I just got a cleaner shrimp for my FOWLR and the only 2 fish in the tank right now are a Clarkii Clown and a Pakastani Butterfly. For the first few days I saw the cleaner shrimp in the same cave and then the other day I was doing a water change and I saw what looked like a feeler tenticle floating around. I have yet to see the shrimp since so I was wondering if one of my fish could have eaten it??? I saw both the clown and the butterfly being cleaned by it the first few days but could one of them decided to have a snack?

Not likely. You probably just saw the exoskeleton after a molt. They hide after a molt until their new skin hardens. Any crabs or anything that could have taken him out instead?

The tank is a FOWLR that finished hypo about a month ago (was treating for ich). Since then I have decided to add some inverts to the tank which I never had before. I added 2 pepps and the single cleaner along with a bunch of snails and a few dwarf blue leg hermits. So the possibility that there is a crab or something in there is very unlikely.

Would the cleaner molt less than a week into the tank? I am going to keep an eye open for the shrimp as I would hate to have lost it already :(

Sure. It molts to grow...has nothing to do with time in your tank, especially if it was being well fed at the place you bought it from. Hope this is the case. Good luck.

it can molt even just a week after getting introduce to a new tank. Mine molt 2 todays after I added it in my tank.
