Pak's ADA 60-F

Figured it was probably time to make a post on this site. I've been a frequent visitor, but haven't posted anything on this site. So may as well make my first post a good one, right?

I got into this hobby a couple years ago with a 20gal long AGA. I customized it so that it was an AIO. I eventually ran into a lot of cyano and algae problems because of source water. After I got that cleared up, I got bit by the rimless look. I had a Mr. Aqua 7.5g cube for about a year before getting tired of how difficult it was to scape and maintain the tank due to it's size. Cubes are great, but the look of a shallow rimless tank is just breath-taking when done right. Inspired by some of the nicer shallow setups on NR as well as here, I decided to get an ADA 60-F. I made the switch a couple weeks ago and got some better shots yesterday. So without further ado, I introduce my 60-F.

Very nice looking tank..what are you running on it in regards to filtration? Also are there any fish in the tank? Keep up the good work.

Thanks guys!

I do have one fish in there, just a blue damsel. He usually jumps in front of every picture I try to take, but yesterday he didn't. Eventually I will get something else, but I'm a little unclear of what I want to add. I've gone through a lot of fish, so many that my wife has nicknamed my tanks the "Tanks of Death". Not sure why I have such a hard time with fish, but everything else thrives.

I'm running an Aqua Clear 20 right now with filter floss (pillow stuffing) and carbon. I've been debating whether to switch over to a canister filter, but I like the simplicity of the AC20. Plus the replacement carbon packs are cheap.

There's a K1 on the other side of the tank for flow. I would love to eventually get a Vortech MP10, but that can wait a little while.

Lighting is provided by 2 Par38 lamps. One is 20k, the other is 12k. So far I like the look that the combo gives me.

That looks very nice! I had read the site for years before posting and it was a little bit strange at first to actually post those first couple. Congrats on making the jump, I hope you get a warm reception

Yes, flower pot coral. I know how notoriously difficult they are to keep alive long term. I've only had it for a little while now, but it extends very well for me and has responded well to both the flow and light conditions in my tank.

Some updates to this thread. I've since drilled my 60-F and changed my lighting setup. I was using two Par38 bulbs, but I'm now using an AI Sol Blue. I love this light! It's by far the best lighting setup I've had since I got into reefkeeping. Here are some new shots of the current setup.
