Paly or Zoa?

Not realy sure if this is a paly or a zoa. Does it look healthy? Is it a sought after Zoanthidea

It is one of many that used to be called Protopalythoa. That particular species of zoa (and all PE's-neon green slit mouth and white stripes on underside of the polyp when closed) were reclassified recently. It is Zoanthus gigantus, so not a Paly. It does look like a GPE, but the purplish ring around the inside of the skirt makes it look like it has the potential to go the Green Stardust PE route. If the purplish ring starts to turn a whitish pink, it could stop there, deepening the green oral disc, or go on to speckles and finally a whitish oral disk with speckles. The gallery shows a number of different morphs.

Boy, James Reimer found some nice wild specimens, huh... Haven't seen alot of those in the trade.

If we are lucky, in a few years, we'll have a few more somewhat easily identifiable species (we can all hope, anyway, huh).

Well since I've had it, the color has just gotten better. All i can do is wait and see how it turns out.

Thanks again all
