So I've just cleaned the long-neglected side of my DT and can see these nasty looking guys - they are nestled next to my family of bubble tips - and the anenomes seem to avoid them. Are these some nasty long-tentacled paly, some enormous aiptasias or something else? Whatever they are I plan to glove up and remove them but I have not seen anything similar like this before. Thanks

A simple insulin syringe with vinegar should take care of them.
Look like palys best I can tell. Is it a relatively high flow area? They tend to get longer tentacles in higher flow areas in my experience
Yup will try that - the guys on Ultimate Reef (I am in the UK) also felt probably a protopalythoa but can only relly tell with a view of the oral disk
Yes decent flow there usually so I suspect you are correct
