Palythoa ignota from the Sea of Cortez

These used to be imported by the ton out Baja, up until like 4 or 5 years ago. The larger ones range from 1" to 1 1/4" and glow green even under sunlight in Baja
The smaller ones in this pic are around 3/4" across, as is the one closed.

This pic is a bit washed out, but it's a decent rendition of the color

I have a whole colony of them. When the actinics are on they glow like fireflies. They are one of my favorite pieces.

? You saying they need it cold? These guys get exposed at low tide in the baking Baja sun. Surface temps can get in the high 80's to low 90's in the summer months, where these were collected.

tank's been at 78 for about 5 years, since they were added

Did you get yours back when they were bring imported, or did you get them via a trade?

I think that was meant as a joke about the fact they seem to have nipples.

I got mine in a trade. Mine have green tentacles do yours have them. It's hard to tell by the picture.
