Panda Goby

I'm thinking of getting a panda goby in my 34g tank to pair with my pistol shrimp. Will they pair? If not what kind of goby should I get?

Don't do it.
Panda gobies don't pair with pistol shrimp. They don't live in the sand, they live in rockwork or on coral.
They are also TINY. The largest one I've ever seen was about 3/4".
I kept a group of them in a 3g pico, all named waldo because we had trouble even finding one at a time. I put a pair in my 20g several years ago, and my fire shrimp ate them alive I am sad to say.
What kind of pistol do you have? Candys and Tigers will pair, bullseye will not, nor will some of the other "assorted" pistols that come into LFS.
For a 34g, consider a yasha hasa goby, a wheeler's, a high fin, a dracula, or a yellow watchman. I have kept all of these and your tank is an appropriate size for any of these and all should pair with a candy or tiger pistol.

Thanks for the advice. I have a tiger pistol shrimp. It was paired with a yellow watchman and out of the blue it just died. I checked all my parameters and everything was still at 0 and that was the only fish I lost. I was hoping the panda would pair. Thanks for letting me know before I wasted time and money.
