can some one tell me a good skimmer to do this with i have a 75g main tank 40g sump and a 15g fragg tank
pappone and BLU Coral method

where can you get the amino supplements? what a\exactly are they called? how much does this whoole thing cost per 6 months? and how is everyone keeping all their parameters higher? more suppliments?

If you are looking for top of the line skimmer,Deltec,Bubble King,for your size tank easy over a grand.Or should I say how much your credit card can handle.
As for AA by Zeo goes Fins Reef.I uderstand that Premium Aquatics,is a new one ALSO.Also check out Reefmadness,they are listed as one also.

You guys are asking questions which have been answered a million times in this thread. Read the thread. Don't get me wrong, I don't read porn magazines... I only look at the pictures. But you guys may want to step back and read this one. HGH is not necessary and if you live in the US, it is illegal. Just ask Jason Giambi.
If you need to ask ?'s on water quality, you have no business using this method. You will f*** it up and blame the method. It has also been mentioned a lot of times that the aminos, food, praying to all that is holy doesn't mean anything. It is a combination of good husbandry, equipment, nutrition, knowledge, praying and luck.
I'm not even going to comment on Deltec. I will just refer to my other post where i said I stopped messing around with NW and went beckett.

Deltecs are pretty nice though and that is what all the BC method people over at ReefItalia suggest I go out and get. I'm running an $80 needlewheel and yeah I can see where it would help to have a more powerful skimmer. However since I have a nano, it is a lot easier to do large waterchanges (~25%) as Calfo suggests than in say a 100 gallon+ tank.
Chris: oh man, I was seriously not mad after the Yanks took Giambi from us. Billy Beane seems to have a knack for getting rid of guys before they lose it (Mark Mulder, Giambi, Billy Koch, possibly Zito, Jose Guillen, etc.).

The Iwaki measures out at 14,700K. If you dont think it looks like a 15K, you dont know what a 15K looks like.

I had ran XM 15K in the past. Was very unhappy with how dim they were, not to mention that it is now well know that the XM 15K was not a quality bulb. Didn't appear overly blue to me either. The Iwasaki is significantly brighter... closer to the XM 10K, only not as yellow. That is what I meant in my post. Most people complain that higher K bulbs appear dim. I feel that these do not.
I hope my explanation for myself falls to your liking. I also apologize that my eye may not be quite as keen as yours. I was only posting from my own observations, not regurgitating something they read on Sanjay's site.

i run the iwasaki 15 k bulbs on one of my tanks and have for 4 months.IMO they are a great bulb and i feel the color is like a 15 k should be.they are brighter than most 10 k bulbs so they fool some people into thinking they are too white for a 15 k.but IMO they give a fair amount of the blue spectrum and corals glow nicely under them with a bit of actinic.a quality bulb and out of 8 i have purchased i have not had a bad one.compared to a xm15k,much brighter.its like comparing a 175 to a 250.compared to a xm 10k,much nicer color and just as bright if not brighter.just my two cents,if anyone cares.

Ob. thread comment: what color is the pappone after you guys make it? Mine is dark green, which I wasn't expecting. I did use spirulina powder, did I use too much?

The gorg I have is photosynthetic, but i HAVE seen first hand it feeding off the pappone.
I upped my pappone feedings to daily, but cut my AA's down to 3 times a week. I really feel like the AA suppliment I was using was the root of my algea blooms... and it turns out I was right.

bureau: yeah Haren is pretty sick in a good way, I think you'll get to see him in interleague against the Cards this weekend or so. But as for the pappone, depending on if you use the red palmata algae or not, it will either be brown/tan or green if you dont use the red algae.
Maeda: Oh, do you know the species on that? I've been looking for a nice gorg and I always figured they were completely non-photosynthetic. It is neat seeing everything else in the tank eating the food--not just the SPS. That was the intent of the food in the first place, hoping that it supports biodiversity. Interesting to hear about the AA's though. A lot of the problems people talk about seem to stem from that and finding a happy medium where algae or cyano doesn't take over.

Haven't heard much from other people, but I took some photos about a month ago, and I'll try to get the camera and do some more this weekend. If you want to see my photos, click on the red house above my post, they're on the last page I believe.
I've increased my dosing since I got my deltec skimmer though. I'm up to about a cube every 3 days or so. I actually fed two cubes last night since I wanted to target feed the LPS (they seem to like it when they get larger chunks this way). My chromis and clowns eat almost half of it, even with the lights off, so I figured more would be good.

hey guys i cant find fresh mussels. is it ok i use froshen for mussels? can i use those black shell mussels underneath the bridge(pier) near oceanshore. you think those mussels are clean enough? thats the freshest i can think of.

I dunno rick, it really depends where you live because if you wouldn't eat those mussels yourself, then it probably shouldn't go into the tank. They're probably absorbing all the junk coming out of boat motors near the pier so likely not a good idea.
Where do you live though? If you're able to get other fresh seafood then you should be able to get mussels.
