Par 38 LED vs. Marineland Reef Capable

I was thinking about putting either 3 par 38 LEDs over my 40 breeder or one of the 36"-48" reef capable marineland LED.

Which one is better?

Thanks

I used one PAR38 over my 12x12 cube and didn't like it. There is no fine tuning and no dusk/dawn because the bulbs are either on or off. I would want 4 of them over a 40 breeder instead of 3.

The Marineland LEDs are mid-level at best.

Have you checked out the new Ecoxotic Panorama PRO fixtures that will be out here in the next 7-10 days? I think you could get use a 24" version over your tank and be just fine. The 24" version comes with 5 of the modules and should be right around $500.

There are dimming in PAR38 if you find the right brand.

The arrow that has the inches markings are horizontal distance from the center of the bulb. You can determine base on the diagram how many you may need.

Since you are in Long Island, check out Tropical Island in Deer Park. They may have couple brands for you to choose from.
