PAR Link

i was mistaken it is just a bulb comparions chart, anyone know where i can find what par i have?

Finding PAR is difficult because of the many variables associated with it, length of light above the water surface, temperature of the bulbs (lower par with high temps has been shown in the lighting forum).

The best (and cheapest) method is to monitor your critters, especially the ones in the sand bed. In a 75 gal you should be pushing around 4 T5 bulbs and be just fine depending on the bulb configuration.

I would do at least 6 T5's if going that way. Even then a pair of 175's running the Iwasaki 15,000K's will almost double your par.

Heres a nice 6 bulb tek fixture vs. a single 175 watt Iwasaki and corresponding numbers and/or lack of them. Yes there is more intensity in the center as compared to the sides, but even out on the sides it's still almost double.

now for the kicker i have 1 MH light 150 watt over a 30 hex that is 21" wide, so i wanted to know the best bulb for me, T5's not right size

Double check which ballast you have before ordering, there are 2 bulb options on there depending on which ballast.
