I took par numbers from the following devices.
Evil Par 38's 80 degree optics
Reefkoi 120w 20k
2x250w DE MH 20k

Picture Diagrams are below. I hope these help!

Thank you for posting this. Do you happen to know which degree optics and how much K is on the par 38 bulbs?

Thanks for posting this. That is really interesteing how the 38s drop quickly in par compared to the reefKoi, especially how low they are mounted compared to the reefKoi.

i like the ReefKoi numbers!

I don't really understand it all but is it safe to say that the reefkoi is 120ish 1w leds vs. the p38's which are 5-3w leds per fixture so x4 is 60w?

correct. how much does a reefkoi cost? I know the Evil's PAR bulbs are around $90/per

Reefkoi $329 and I paid $90s for the evil par38 with optics. Kinda apple to apple. Reefkoi is a good 2ft spread. Par 38s are a smaller spread. I am happy with the numbers and growth.

Totally appreciate the numbers. I was personally doing a comparison as a consumer between the Evil lamp, (which I own), and the ReefKoi fixture that I do not have.

I would love an AI Sol or even one the Sol Nano fixtures but I doubt I'll be getting one of those anytime soon. The numbers on the Evolution are impressive and I'm pleasantly suprised.

Clear and informative information; thanks for posting!

There is some debate as to how relevant PAR numbers are when it comes to LED lighting, but it gives a great guideline for acclimating corals as well as comparing different fixtures.

My Sol Nano can't ship soon enough, this is one bandwagon I'm excited to hop on. :bounce2:

PS- If you get the Vertex you've been talking about, I might have to check it out... those things are sharp cheddar!

Thanks, I tried to make it easy to read and to help people who want to buy LED make an educated decision.

I definitely want the 48 inch vertex illumina 200. Hopefully by fall.
