Wondering if anyone have these in their tank? Thinking of planning to find a colony and let them spread over my ugly rocks.

I totally have no idea, I dont see any of the yellow/orange ones around... Only the brown ones? Are they the same?

I have these guys and they are growing fast.

I had some in my regular reef tank that hitchhiked in on some rock. I believe they're photosynthetic, as I never fed them, but I can't say for certain. They didn't survive my treating some colonial hydroids, much to my wife's dismay (she loved them) so I can't attest that they are or are not photosynthetic other than to state they survived 6 months without any type of direct feeding

They are photosynthetic, most people know them as simply yellow polyps even some websites such as live aquaria don't have the scientific name listed. I have some in both my 250 NPS tank and my Girlfriends little 30 reef. The ones in my low lit tank are slowly dying off the rock I stole from her tank while the ones in her tank under a 75 watt metal halide are growing like wild fire.

I have a pretty decent size colony about 18-22 heads on the frag plug, they have great extension and nice yellow color at least for me. Got a plug with 6-8 on it 2 months ago, so has doubled in size over 2 months.
