part is wearing out

I read this on one of the threads but the thin gasket that goes on the exterior glass is being worn out by the rotation of the unit. I have 3/4 glass so I'm not using the spacer. what is solution to prevent further wear and where do I get the replacements from. it is happening with 2 of the 3 that I have.
