Passar Angelfish in reef?

I have mostly and LPS/zoa mixed tank right now. There is a juvie approx. 2-3" Passar available near me that's been in the store quite a while and is fat, sassy, and eats all types of prepared foods. Anybody have experience with these guys, how well do they play with others esp. tangs?

Get big and mean, even more so in "small" tanks (( a 180 would be small for an adult passer )), which is a shame, great looking fish.

Passer angels get mean.,.. they were the most returned angel back when I worked at a LFS

Gotta agree with the above statements. Not only will it eat your zoas and pick at your LPS, it will harass all your other tankmates. I had one in a 210 for a brief period as the last fish introduced and it harassed everything. It took over the middle of the tank immediately and wouldn't let any of the other fish occupy rockwork anywhere but the very ends of the tank. Needless to say it got sold and I will never own one again. They are beautiful and hardy though.

beautiful fish but agree with above...they get real aggressive when large...will pick on corals...

passer angel is in my opinion the most aggressive angel. actually i'd say it's one of the most aggressive fish in general, even more aggressive than some triggers. i've never owned one for that reason as i've seen a few who would just relentlessly chase tank mates.

it is called the King Angel for a reason,lol....they get big and very aggressive...but a beautiful and wonderful fish in the right tank...

Like everyone has stated, maybe one of the worst choices for a reef safe/community angel. Big, mean, nasty, and destructive but very beautiful. In a FO with some other tough customers would make a wonderful centerpiece fish.
