Pausing 6105

I have couple 6105 in my 180G placing in the opposite ends. I am using the Apex vari speed port to control both pumps. Currently I have a profile to pause it every 1sec (on and off 0-100%) to generate a pretty good magnitude of wave. My concern is does the 6105 can sustain this kind of action. I know the pump is variable speed but not sure I use that the proper way. If you have any other way to generate a good pause of wave, I am gladly to take the advise.

It is built to do that, no problem. Just be sure to keep it clean, they build up calcium more quickly when cycled that way, particularly, be sure the metal shaft is clean and the prop spins freely.

Thanks Roger. What is the best way to clean those part? Vinegar?

Disassemble so the shaft is exposed and just a 50/50 vinegar water soak.
