PBT fin not looking good

I noticed today that the white fin on the bottom of my PBT is missing a piece.

No new fish have been added that could be bothering it. Other fish in the tank, cinnamon clownfish, niger trigger and 5 blue/green chromis. They have all been together for close to 1 year. They all get along great, I've never seen any aggression amongst any of them.

Any ideas??

Looks like a fish bite. Once in a while one of my fish might show up with one of those. Usually at night fish get a little feisty over sleeping spots. It should heal up in no time.

I want to know which fish on that list would get that close and take a bite at the PBT? Given they been together for a year I would think they have learned not to mess with the PBT. Any possibility it's fin rot?

The Niger Trigger probably.

I wouldn't have suspected the trigger as he is the smallest of the 3 larger fish (3" - trigger, 4" - PBT and clown). I have also never seen the trigger go after any of his tank mates. The clown is also not nearly as aggressive since the BTA died, but still the most aggressive in the tank.

Also, the 3 retreat to the same sleeping spots every night, so I don't think there fighting for a spot. Clown on the left, PBT in the middle and trigger under a rock on the right.

I would just keep an eye on it. Maybe add garlic, selcon and vita-chem to its feedings to help it heal faster. I wouldn't be to concerned unless this becomes a weekly thing. PBT could of wondered during the night and the clown or trigger could of got it.

Notice the shape of your triggers mouth then notice the shape of the bite mark on the tang. I bet they look identical! If your water quality and feedings are up to par it should heal in no time.

Water quality is great and I soak all food and nori in selcon. I'll just have to keep one eye on it and the other on the trigger.

The bite on the fin does look like the trigger could have done it, interesting. Maybe the PBT did wonder into the wrong territory at night.

Thanks for all the advice!
