My new PBT is looking awesome. Hr is doing great and has no signs of ich or parasities that I see. It's been one week in the QT. I was wondering how much longer? I was thinking one more week with no signs of trouble! Thoughts?

I would wait at least 4 weeks but most of the time I go 5 weeks in QT. I also treat with prazi pro to help with any parasites. With a tang I would be extra careful good luck and congrats on the PBT love them!

Get used to it. I'm one of the world's most impatient people; this hobby has taught me plenty. Just one parasite in your DT can ruin the hobby for you.

Yeah, I remember the "good ol' days"... When my dad & I would find a cool new fish at our favorite LFS. As a kid, it was such a thrill to bring the fish home and plop him in one of our DTs.

At least back then we had the option of just treating the entire DT if we rolled the dice & lost. Nowadays with reefs, most people don't have that option.

.The best cure for non (or short)- quarentineophopia is being forced to tear apart a 240 gal reef tank because of a preventable parasite. Loosing hundreds of dollars (thousands in today's dollars) to velvet will do it too. Never again.
