I seen one of these yesterday and was wondering if they will go good with a red volitain lion? Also are they good alge eaters i have the brown alge on my sand from time to time? And how hard are they to keep?

Thanks for any info!!!!!!
Tony

Yes, they will be fine with the lion, but don't expect it to do anything for the sand. Also, they like a lot of meat in their diet, so don't put them in a reef.

oh ok thanks lots!!!!!! I saw one at my lfs for $7 and thought it would look cool but i always ask before i put anything in my tanks!
THANKS again
Tony

They will eat your coraline algae and do not go good in reef tanks like said above. I've heard pincushins are the safest but still will eat that coraline algae.

Pencils are safe to put in a reef. They don't consume that much corline algea. The only things that a real big problem is the they will rearange your tank. By knocking lose things over like frags and rocks. Some fish even use the urchins for protection. Like the Kaudern's & Spotted Cardinalfish that use the long spine urchin as protection. I have one in my tank and it most cleans the glass and rocks.
