Pendant Height?

I have a 20G High that has a 175w 12,000k Sunburst over it. I would like to keep 1 or 2 clams in this tank. Currently the light hangs 10" from the top of the water. Is this an ok height for clams? and does a 12,000k bulb have enough "intensity" to do the trick. I wanted to do the lower light clams first, can't remember their names. Let me know what you guys think.

6500k to 10000k is the best for clams. but u could do a derasa, squamosa or hippopus with that and maby a maxima if it was midway to the top,id start with a derasa
