peppermint sgrimp vs torch coral --really?

Just added a new torch coral and two new peppermint shrimp (kind of large ones) and within minutes one of the shrimp went crazy attacking the coral. Is this normal...or is there just a dead bit of coral he's pruning back for me? The little bastard!!!!

sure its a pep? I have been reading, and apparnelty there are 2 very common types of shrimp that are mis-named peppermint shrimp.

I only question this because as in the thread above this one(or now below) proves, peps GENERALLY do not attack corals. Camels and whatever the other mixed up one is, DO.

It seems to have stopped harrassing it --maybe there was a piece of food in it that it was stealing. It happened within seconds of putting them both in the the tank. Very odd behavior.

I got it from VividAquariums who I trust, so I don't think the species ID was wrong. But who really knows.

Now I need to place the coral....check out my homepage and chime in if you like....
