My peppermint shrimp died tonight. I noticed him sitting on the bottom. Do they die alot or could there be something else wrong? All my water tests were fine. So I am not sire what is going on. Any help is appreciated.
They molt: the shrimp disappears for a few days and his unused shell turns up against the overflow.
If it has died, a primary culprit tends to be salinity change. Shrimp have to be acclimated particularly carefully for that reason: if you had a topoff overrun or some such (my own problem) you can lose the shrimp.
It was dead. He hadnt molted yet. I do a water change once a week. I change about 15% and make sure the water is the right temp. The slainity is a little low. Maybe that is what did him in. Thanks for the responses. I think I will try a cleaner shrimp and be a little more careful on the salinity.
