peppermint shrimp eating my procilipora?

hey guys do you think a peppermint shrimp can harm a procilipora? i have noticed a recession from the top of a green one i have and noticed he was eating stuff off it . i chased him away but later that night he returned.. any ideas?

I wouldn't put it past it. However, there could be something already off with the coral, and the shrimp is just taking advantage of it.

What are your Cal, Alk, Mag and salinity levels?
Any changes to the tank lately?

I saw this exact same behavior from my peppermint shrimp on my procilipora but he went one step further and I could see him tugging on the polyps. Needless to say peppermint was out the very next day.
