Peppermint shrimp eggs?

One of my peppermint shrimp is packed up with eggs under her tail.

She is in the Fuge and so nothing will kill the babies, cept' maybe the parents.

My question is , can this be a problem? Will I end up with 1000's of shrimp?

Most likely the babies will be released, the ones swept into the tank will be eaten in a feeding frenzy. Baby shrimp are difficult to rear in an aquarium and require planktonic/extremely small foods. I doubt that any would survive long. Even if not eaten by something else, they would starve.

No worries about them maturing unwanted. There's a thread in one of the breeding forums where someone worked for months, going through hundreds of larvae before obtaining a single adult. They have to survive for about 3 months in the water column, getting enough to eat while not being eaten themselves, before they touch down and begin walking... needless to say they'll probably either lose an encounter with a fish or pump before then or starve. Their lifespan in an aquarium is probably measured in hours (and many not even that long).
