peppermint shrimp with eggs

hello! I bought a single peppermint shrimp a few days ago to help with aptasia.. it doesent eat the aptasia, but i did notice a ton of yellowish orange eggs under its tail yesterday. i tried doing some research and found that after they turn from green to orange theres about ten days left till hatching.

my question... since the shrimp was in a tank with many others are these eggs already furtalized, or does that happen after it releases the eggs?

not trying to breed these or anything, juat want to know if i should expect a bunch of babys or just the eggs.. either way i realize these will be just food for the rest of the tank....

They could be fertilized since it was in a tank with others. They make great fish snacks! She will release the larvae sometime...

My peppermint shrimp released hundreds of babies the other night about two hours after lights out. In the glow of the LED moonlights, it was fascinating to watch. Very tiny - but if you look closely you can see them pretty well. I turned off the pumps just to watch them for a few minutes.

It didn't take long for the clowns to "wake up" and start feasting on them. By the next morning, there was no evidence of any babies left.

wow. that fast. I went back to the store and bought two more peppermints because the pregenent one wasent eatting aptasia and i ended up getting another prego one!! she was going for the aptasia lastnight so i hope shes successful. Its really cool, all three hang out together, upside down under this arch type thing in my reef.
