peppermint shrimp

hey guys
i had a question
my peppermint shrimp i have had for about 3 weeks now
it has been doing fine but i noticed he will lose all his color
and then ill look at it like 5 minutes later and it will be blood red
is this normal?

I am no expert, but my shrimp do the same thing. I think it is normal.

Yeah from time to time, mine turn almost clear, but then they are deep red again

Are you sure he didn't just molt ... they will get milky colored and bland before they make their sudden jolt to molt and then show very pure colors.

ive keep a peppermint shrimp in pure darkness for a few months, it was completly clear, no stipes or no sign of red or pink, then i add it back to my main tank and it colors came back!!!! the shrimp looked better when it was clear because i didnt have to look at it.

mine does the same but when lights ar turn off it is clear when lights go on it turns red again
