Peppermint shrimp?

Anyone know if any of our local shops have peppermints in? I'm having fits with this aiptasia, and need a small army of them.

Thanks,
Danielle

Not sure about Orlando but I know they have them over here. I got 2 for my 125, and they cleared my tank out, then went after my polyp's so you might think of just getting a few, that way the keep them down to just a few, but they still have something to eat. And if what I hear is true, there is no guarantee that they will go after apt's they might just turn of your polyp's. In that case its better to have a small amount, so there is less money waisted.

i think I usually see them at Aquaria Studio and that means Ocean's Blue probably has them too. If you're north I think Reef Works has some too - they also have camel shrimp but they are labelled differently. I can't recall if SITC has any their inverts are always changing!

I don't nkow if its just me and the enthusiastic hobbyist but if you put both in front of me I think I could tell the difference between them - at least it looks a little obvious to me but maybe they look more similar shaped when they are younger.

If you totally can't find any at all I have one in my tank that isn't doing anything but sitting there all day you could have - he's been known to eat a piece or two of aptasia that i had before but he wont touch majano

They had some over at sea in the city on Wed. Not sure if they still do or not. You can call them though 407-207-4056

Great! I do know the difference between camel and pepps - my first "peppermint" was a camel and although it was many years ago, I won't make that mistake again.

I've never had them go after polyps - they usually just hang upside down and do their shrimpy dance. I have lost 2 cleaner shrimp in the last year, and just hope it's a fluke and not a tank problem.

They had some at the old "fish bowl" the other day...
and at a very good price....
Sorry cant remember their new name...

I'm planning to be there. And only if you don't need him - I have to work the night shift tonight, but when I wake up, I'm going to hit a couple of stores.

Did a WC/siphon detritis/rearrange a bit today and it really sunk in that the buggers are taking over.

let me know tommorow. i will check the thread. just like chrisstie he's just hanging out in the tank and there is no aptisa in there. just eats flake that i give him. he will eat right out of your hands

Yeah let us know tomorrow and if you don't have success with the stores I can bag mine up and bring him in. I prefer my skunk and blood cleaners.

I've got 3 "reserved" at SITC, but I'll buy your too! Thanks guys - I'd love to be able to host a meeting down the road but I have got to get these bleeping aips under control!

I'll be there - you know me. :)
