perc has finally found my gbta

I added a green bubble tip about a month ago for my male and female SI percs. Neither of them showed any interest until tonight. The female has finally taken up with the anemone and is going nuts with it. The male is still hanging out in the corner, though (lights are out). Hopefully he'll be lured into it by the female today when the lights go on. I was starting to think they would never hook up with the gbta but it only took a month.

congrats on the hosting. that's awesome when they host and you get to watch them scrubbing around in their anemone.

Great News!

I have had a GBTA for almost a year and added a perc a month ago. He has NO interest in the GBTA yet but you give me hope kind sir. :p

Well, I added another clown and now I think they are both Ocellaris. But oh well, I really cant tell.

Anyway, the new one took right to my.....TORCH CORAL.

Is there a chance that he could decide to switch to the the GBTA or will he stick with his first pick?

yeah
I just read this thread and turned around to see if maybe .. maybe!
No.
My two ocellaris are more interested in seeing what my royal gramma is up to rather than GOING IN THE FABULOUS ANEMONE THAT i BOUGHT FOR THEM!!! THE INGRATEFUL LITTLE GUYS!

sorry, had to

My ocellaris spend most of their time schooling with the chromis. None of them seem to know the difference. :p

The one (yes, only one) that is hosting the torch only goes in at night or when it is scared. It spends the rest of its time all over the tank. I dont have any aggressive fish so that may be why.

Mine hosted in a ginopora for about 6 month and then moved into my LTA! my GBTA has nothing hosting in it. The clowns now keep on switching from the Ginopora to the LTA !

Well, they dont seem to be bothering the torch so Im not really worried right now. I just dont want to have to remove the torch.

These posts are all worthless without pictures!!!!

I will look into posting the pics, I have tons of pics but it's not the easiest to post pics on this forum. Anyway, a bit of an update. The male never did take to the anemone and the female seemed to lose interest in it after the first few days. I thought she chose the male over the anemone since they are always together and she couldn't get the male to take to the anemome. She would venture in at night once in a while. Then last week she again took up with the anemone and has been consistent with it since last week. The male on the other hand has now seemed to take up with my hammer coral on the other side of the tank. He had never shown any interest in it before last week. Anyone know what's going on with them? They used to be together all the time before the female took to the anemone. Now she stays at the anemome and he has been hanging out with the hammer. I did see both of them hanging out last night in the corner away from both the anemone and hammer for about 3 hours and they then went their separate ways back to their new 'homes', so they aren't fighting. Anyone seen this type of behavour before?
