Perfecto Overflow noise

I finished all the plumbing on my 75g yesterday. Everything seems fine except that the water flowing into the overflow is so loud. It is just falling too far I think but I don't know how to fix it. It is a perfecto tank with their durso pipe. I have read that a larger hole in the top might help but until I get more confirmation of this I am hesitant to modify anything. Thanks in advance.

If you think the water falling is the cause of the noise you could build your own dorso and make it taller so that the water doesn't drop as far.

I found the durso that Perfecto includes doesn't work well. With a relatively weak return pump, it should be sufficient, but a higher flow one around 600 gph will overwhelm it.

Maybe thats my problem, I'm using a mag 9.5 for the return pump. It says the overflow is rated at 750gph I think, and I figured after the head pressure the mag 9.5 would be down to about that. beatle, did you find a way to make it work, or just use a smaller pump?
