Perfecto Tanks

Has anyone heard about these tanks or have any experance with them? I saw 1 today and it seemed to be a nice tank.

I say they are garbage, Oceanic is by far the best in glass.

Well its that and the fact they have a good chance of cracking. Its just they are not really well made.

Wow I didnt know what. What would make them crack. Isnt glass pretty much glass?

Well it has to deal with the seals as well and if you look at a perfecto tank compared to an Oceanic there is a big difference on the corners where the sealer is used.

I think all the tanks have their strong and weak points in comparison to each other, but I've known lots of folks who really like Perfecto tanks. Smpolyp has a 180, I believe, and wanted that brand specifically, so he might be able to give you more insight on how that worked out for him. I really like their overflow system. They come apart for easy cleaning.

Well by reading those threads no one said anything bad about them. I saw of the tanks at a local store and they seemed real nice. I figured I would ask before buying. Thanks again everyone

Well i would say go with Oceanic because i have had perfecto's in the past break on me, and that was a ten gallon and a twenty gallon as well. So i would not trust the big tanks as far as i could thow them. They are in my mind as crap as top fin.

I've got a Perfecto 180 that's about 3 years old and it's been a perfectly good tank.. And considering it's been moved 3 times total in it's lifetime, I'd say it's done great! Not a leak in sight.. I'd buy another..

As entitled as you may be bluecarpet, don't forget that some people here are doing this hobby on an extremely limited budget. That means a lot of waiting to save to buy something, to set it up, hope they can pay the bills, eat, spend time with their family and manage to afford that bargain piece of coral all in the same month.

To me if it holds water and doesn't break into a million pieces after some moderate use, doesn't matter the brand or price, just have to find what works for you and your budget (I mean, once its filled with stuff you really don't look at the glass itself right?)

If you misuse a tank of any brand or happen to get the unfortunate lemon and it cracks or breaks, these things happen and I don't think it should be a deterrant to checking out a tank that may work for the buyer and their budget.
