Peroxide Dip

Hi guys,

I'm looking to get rid of the red cyanobacteria and other cyano from my rock. I've read that peroxide is great for this and I have used it a couple times for my freshwater tanks. Problem is that I have zoas and palys on my rock so they would get dipped too. Any opinions on using it? What ratio watereroxide do you use? And how long do you normally dip? And where do you get your peroxide from if you do use it?

If cyno is your problem, just treat your system with Chemiclean Red Slime Remover. It cleared mine up in one treatment. Just follow the directions it should take care of your problem.

I have done two treatments of Chemi-Clean. Not sure if it is red slime remover or not. I'll have to check the box.

You system is probably new judging by your join date only.
cycle is more than ammonia, if you treat chemically, another pest will take it's place. Be patient and don't add any fish until your nitrates are close to zero using a non API test.

peroxide works great on all algea, not sure about cyano
2-1 tank water to peroxide (the kind you buy at the drugstore)
peroxide needs to be fresh-opened, dip for 3-5 min.
zoas will close, but will be fine.

Thanks Mayjong . I know it works on freshwater cyano since I've used it but I wasn't sure about saltwater.
