hello all i am currently intrested in adding a 4 inch personifer to my reef does anyone have this angel in any of ther tanks i have never seen one in person and i would like to see how attractive they are i have done a search on google for pics but they very from really ugly to realy nice so please share any photos or experience that you may have thanks to all..... and yes i know that no angel is reef safe but i am currently in this try it stage!!! lol...:D

Chaetodontoplus personifer is not available in the trade; it's range is entirely closed in protected waters. A very, very closely-related fish (C. meredithi) is often sold as a personifer. Just so you know.

That's per copps, so hopefully he'll chime in on this (as he's the closest to an angelfish expert as there is).

i stand corrected you are apsolutley right but they are usually sold a personifers so i just refered to it as what people usually no them by thanks for your input

small ones are a good choice for C. Meredithi. Reef safe is very arguable. I haven't heard any successes for personifers in a reef but i don't think there have been many people trying it.

I would think that softies and maybe SPS would be OK, but LPS and clams would be eaten.

give it a shot.. just have a back up plan.

I got mine back in May and it was 3" and the white has goten more blue since. Growing pretty fast and looking prettier as it grows. Took about 3.5 weeks to eat and it eats pretty much everything now including flakes, pellets, freeze dried mysis and nori. It loves live cherrystones.

thanks for the help so far guys they really are good looking fishes from the photos you guys posted i am also trying to decide on a 4 inch scribbled angel how well do they do and does anyone have pics or info on how well they would fair with corals lps and sps an a few clams

How about a Scribbled angel? They are in the same family as the Personifier but are more attractive to me. Mine is a real sweet fish but I don't have a reef and don't know how reef safe they are. I only have a couple of brain corals and a mushroom covered rock and she dosn't bother those. I think well fed angels are less likely to pick at corals. Good luck, Lesley
