Pest Help :(

So this "pest" has been living in that branch island I have in my tank. He's been in there since day one. I didn't think of it much, until my friend told me it was bad. Tanks been running almost 4 months now, and he's still there. I tried to epoxy every hole I saw on that piece of l.r but he keeps on popping up in the smallest cracks. I bought a juvenile Peppermint shrimp to take care of it, and after a few days of looking, I could tell the pest was getting eaten up. Up until last week my pep. shrimp disappeared, and I dont think its b/c he's shedding. Does anyone have any clue what could have happened to my shrimp?
And to the point of this thread, how can terminate this pest!? :uzi:

Also, in the second pic shown, I think I have some "Cyano" developing. I'm doing bi-weekly water changes, and I've cut down my feeding to reduce nitrates, etc.
Help?.....

Don't scare me with a mantis man, haha
That's like my worst nightmare, hearing clicking on the
glass at midnight. But none of that has happened, thank god.
Woulda had that guy for dinner, I know all its tricks :uzi:
Thnx for the suggestions guys, but my damn shrimp is
still missing :hmm2: He was only a baby too.

lol the epoxy is funny. its a small rock so +1 with the poster above. if you get more joes juice is great. the second pic looks like coraline developing and not cyno but cant be sure from your pic.

Go to Walgreen, buy a syringe, fill it will lemon juice and inject...
OR
Lighter trick works
OR
Run the that area of the lr under hot water.

Good Luck!

My tank is 20' tall. By the time I get my hand in there, and try to position it, I'll prob break the needle or something, what happens if lemon juice gets squirted into the water by accident?...

If you're having problems try the lighter method or hot water, that'll work for sure and it won't matter if it recedes as long as you get the area the aiptasia is on.

that all sounds way to complicated. aiptasia x by red sea works great if you want to see it in action check out youtube videos search aiptasia x and the bottle will last forever if it comes back cause chances are you wont get it all and it will pop up somewhere else in the tank. i personally used peppermint shrimp they worked great for me i got to large ones and overnight my little pests were gone.
