looks like aiptasia my friend!!! and yes youll want to rid them from your tank before they multiply into the hundreds..... your best bet is to get a copper banded butterfly fish but watch him with your corals bcus they arent always reef safe. or maybe some peppermint shrimp. as a last attempt u could use joes juice but i dont like it

Thanks for the reply. The tank is a 24 cube would a fish like that be ok?

no.. those fish need at least a fifty gallon tank... not to mention how fragile they are..

yeah i didnt realize how small it is i would say get 5 0r 6 peppermint shrimp and see how they do. are the aiptasia isolated to that rock? take a hard look and try to see if they are mix up a bucked of salt water put that rock in there and try to inject them with joes juice or liquid calcium. the reason i say to put it in a seperate bucket is bcus i hit some in a tank i have with joes juice and they spread like wildfire. keep me updated

Kalk paste and Joe's juice can have the direct opposite effect of eliminating them. It can make them go beyond plague proportions. If you don't have any fish that will eat the peppermints, save yourself some work, and just add them to the display. Cut back on feeding, and they will take care of what few aptasia you have in a week or so. They are nocturnal, so you won't see them at work, just the results. Just make sure you don't have any carnivores that will make expensive sushi out of the peps, otherwise do as others have advised and pull the one rock and put in a separate tank with hungry peps. Get your peps from a diver. Reeftopia.com sells true peppermints.

im glad someone else feels the same way about the joes juice but i have had pretty good luck using it out of the display aquarium and rinsing it in fresh saltwater

Thanks for all the advice. I have tried the kalk paste now. will keep an eye on things. The only fish in the cube is a skunk, will it eat the peps? I have seen the apt. in the sand so tanking rocks out wont help totally although I agree that would be the way to go. I will probly get peps if my fish wont eat them. will keep you posted.
