Just thought I'd throw this out there if you're interested in getting a 15% discount on anything at petsmart check out petsmart?com/friends otherwise if you give me the money and what you need I can get a 30% discount between Dec. 5-8

Just a heads up if anyone needs something at petco they will match the deal as well. Was in there today and walked out with a fluval spec V for $68otd.

Yeah they have to match the price since it's advertised.... Good deal on it.... Already got my tank too and my younger brother is putting my LEDs together.... Next plan, getting a second return pump and building a media rack.

I actually talked to Mike and told him what I wanted as far as lighting and he suggested I use 8 LEDs in total with their dimmable driver

I think I'm going to order the 6led kit just cause I don't plan to keep much in the way of harder corals. Thinking three blue, one cool white, one warm and one violet/uv and just put them on indavidual heat sinks on the factory arm for now. Should be fine for Euphyllia and Zoas and think.

Yeah that sounds good but I would skip the cool or warm and get neutral white they are better as far as spectrum

I'm mostly concerned with the look of it and sustaining a couple easy corals. Ordered a couple neutrals though so I could swap them in eventually if I want.

yeah im going to remove the whole light and just keep the little arm that connects it to the tank then screw the heatsink to the arm. thats cool you did that let me know how you like it with different lights. mine is also going to be easy corals mostly zoas and a couple palys.

Lights came in yesterday. Hooked them all up today and they look really really good.. And BRIGHT! I'll post a pic or vid in my build thread when I can get one up.

sounds good bro my brother is still working on getting mine hooked up just needed to buy a new tap since the one he was using broke but then again there is plenty of time for him to get them done since i wont use them until mid-April.

In this hobby that is what's most important when setting up a new tank.... Hopefully by that time I can afford some very nice corals.... Maybe a very small pair of clowns.
