PH Calibration solution?

Do I calibrate my PH probes in the full bottles of solution or should I pour the solution in separate containers and one time use it?

I use a couple of clean shot glasses. they're the right size and nice and heavy so they don't tip over.

When done calibrating, refill with your favorite elixer and toast success!

couple ounces is all you need, just enought to submerge the tip. Keep the jar lid tight, don't reuse solution. Eventually air will taint your calibration fluid - I have no idea how long that will take. If you ever have any doubts, go to your LFS and just purchase a couple of single use packets.

So I calibrate my first new PH Probe and it goes much easier than I thought it would. Now its reading a PH level of 8.35 (does that seem reasonable)? I went to calibrate the second new PH Probe and in either solution it says 7.08 and wont budge. They are Lab Grade Neptune systems PH Probes, both had the plastic caps on them and both appeared to be wet with whatever that shipping solution is.

Any thoughts?
