Is this somethng a lot of people don't use in their tank? I'm just trying to take the guessing game out of color shades in a testing kits on something that is so critical to a tank.
I had a pinpoint monitor but now have an older lighthouse controller with a ph probe. It depends on what you are looking for. The ph pen type is good if your just looking to not have to mess with a test kit. But ultimately the ph monitor is the way to go as it is always on and you can just glance at it and know what your ph is.
My pinpoint changes as it goes through the light cycle, and told me when I shot my pH up above 10 the one time when I nuked the tank with kalkwasser. Like I said, I'm not sure what the standard deviation is on these, but it at least seems to work.
