ph in r/o water

using instant ocean salt in a25 gal container filled with r/o water getting a ph of 7.8 is this normal for this salt any feed back do i need to use some buffer

My instant ocean salt is mixing up to 7.8 right now as well, with RO water. It's a new bag. My last bag mixed in at 8.2. I am interested in an answer to this as well.

What are you checking the pH with. Test kit or probe?

I'm personally using an API test kit.
