PH Issues

This sucks. Due to the size of the house, 4 people, 5 dogs, and the fact it's all closed up is killing my CO exchange and in turn holding my ph down. It is amazing how it reacts to the closed environment. Last night I left windows and doors open and she was right back to normal when I got up. Can't wait for the heat to be over as my sps are taking a hit (although not to bad it's not what I want to see). At 1 point it dipped down by 7.6 during the night (according to the graphing on controller). Anybody else experience this? Going to run an air pump from basement window to the sump that is upstairs in the stand and see if that will give me enough fresh air.

Well, the Summer is almost over and you can have the windows open again to get the air exchange. The ph shwings suck. down to 7.6 isnt terrible, though. Everything will live -- just get stressed and decline/receed a bit Id think.

Glad to announce that since the night temps have dropped everything has stabilised now that the house is open. LPS/Zoas never even looked phased but I could see where it was starting to effect some of my sps.

Its normal for your ph to drop at night like that...its because the lights aren't on. An open top and skimmer should be all you need to maintain correct ph in a normal environment...you might want to consider installing a window ac unit in the tank room as well. That would help with CO2 and temp.
