PH jumped up for the first time.

My PH has been very consistent. B/t 7.89 at night and 8.03 during the day.

I set up a Deltec P509 Calcium reactor 2 days ago. I got it set so I get 2-3 bubble count for the CO2 and the drip. I noticed my regulator solenoid was getting hot so I decided not to run it when I wasn't here. I ran it 2 days in a row from 5 pm when I got home from work until 8 am the next day when I left. Oddly enough after I cut it off this morning at 8 am, the PH rose like normal and then at 2:20pm it didn't level out at 8.03. It kept going to 8.13 where it peaked until 20 minutes ago when my second 250W MH cut off. It is currently at 8.10. I turned the reactor back on about an hour ago so the additional rise from 8.03-8.10 or so happened before I cut it on again.

I just tested CA at 375, Alk at 9.5 & Mag at 1350

Should this be a concern?

The tank is a 120 w. 50 sump, 20L fuge with cheato. Twin 250W MH's with 4 T5's.

You can run a pH as high as 8.5-8.6 or so and not have issues, though it's probably not a good target pH. My daily pH runs between 8.1 and 8.3 and all is well. I think large swings might be a concern but what you're seeing isn't bad at all.

What may have caused the increase for the first time? I assume it must be related to the reactor. I thought it was more likely to lower the PH not raise it.
