Ph levels

I am curing live rock in my tank and the Ph level wont rise above 7.9 so i bought some Reef Buffer by seachem and all it did was raise my alkalinty through the roof (6.0) so i was wondering what to do? If anything at all?

I agree with both. 7.9 is nothing to freak about, but 8.2 is the norm. 6.o meg ev/l is getting up there though. have you tried aerating the tank really good to get rid of co2. is your house really sealed up tight insulated???

Does it really matter that much at this time since he is only curing the live rock?
I would not lose too much sleep of it until after the live rock is cured. Then you can get all the parameters in check. It sounds as if you may not be doing enough water changes during the curing.

If there were fish and corals in the tank then I would sweat. But then again not too much.

Don't sweat it too much.

If he's just curing LR, then chances are that the low pH is due to high ammonia. Wait till it's cured and recheck. 7.9 is nothing to sweat over.

when i started my tank about 2 months ago it ran around 7.8 and gradualy rose after time dont worry things take awhile in this hobby
