PH pen

a real meter with a remote probe that you can leave in 24/7 isn't really that much more (like maybe only 20 bucks more?). i've never used a pen, but i've always wondered how you keep the sensor wet on the pen between uses.

You just have to keep solution in the cap in between uses. But Matt is right , for a tiny bit mor you can get the meter w/ probe and they last longer , easier to calibrate , and just plain more durable due to not having to move them around as much...

Most pens come with a small sponge that fits over the sensor. They work well as long as you look after them, like anything else.
I had one of the pens and they seemed to be as accurate as my pinpiont.
