pH probe bulkhead

Does anyone know of a good way to put a pH probe on a Ca reactor. I bought a probe bulkhead from PA but there is not enough room to drill a hole through my lid and put the bulkhead into place. Are there any GJ fittings at Lowes that would work or a better bulkhead. I would like to stay away from the uniseal idea if at all possible.
